About Us
Jason & Andrea Wiley
We are a husband and wife team who have both been significantly helped by acupuncture in our own lives, and have seen its impact on our families. That experience inspired us to dedicate ourselves to its study and practice, so we could share this medicine with our community in Waimea and Kona.

Jason Wiley
Jason completed his formal training at the Traditional Chinese Medical College of Hawaii in 2012. Alongside it, he completed a four-year apprenticeship under the guidance of Dr. Chieko Maekawa. After completing the apprenticeship, through her mentorship, Jason traveled to Japan to study directly with Dr. Daiichi Sorimachi, the founder of Seitai Shinpo. Among Dr. Maekawa's students, he is one of only two awarded the gold certificate by Dr. Sorimachi.
During his time in Japan as part of the gold certificate exam, Jason was invited to treat Dr. Sorimachi directly, an extraordinary honor, as Dr. Sorimachi rarely allowed people to treat him. Jason gave the moxibustion treatment. Seeing how his teacher responded has stayed with him ever since.
Jason trained in Upledger CranioSacral Therapy beginning in 2000, and often closes treatments with this gentle, light-touch work. He also prescribes Chinese herbal medicine.

Andrea Wiley
Andrea was born and raised in Switzerland. Growing up she loved assisting her father, a veterinarian who also practiced acupuncture on animals. It was always her dream to use acupuncture to help others. In 2015 she fulfilled this dream when she moved to Hawaii and began her training in acupuncture and Chinese medicine.
In 2019 she graduated from the Institute of Clinical Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, completing a specialized 4-year apprenticeship program under Dr. Chieko Maekawa. Dr. Maekawa teaches Seitai Shinpo, a style of Japanese Structural Acupuncture. Andrea chose to learn this style because it was the only treatment that gave her relief from a neck injury she sustained in her 20s.
Beyond structural acupuncture, Andrea has completed advanced training in scalp acupuncture through the Neuro-Acupuncture Institute (Levels I & II), expanding her ability to address a wider range of conditions.
Today she brings her full practice to structural acupuncture and personalized care. She also prescribes Chinese herbal medicine, and makes her own herbal moxa salve.

Our Lineage
Our Teachers
We both trained in Seitai Shinpo under Dr. Chieko Maekawa through her four-year apprenticeship, and she continues to teach us today. After completing his apprenticeship, Jason had the chance to study with Dr. Daiichi Sorimachi, the founder of the method, while he was still living, including a week of training with him in his own clinic in Japan. Much of how we work comes from this direct lineage.

How We Work
Our Approach
We both practice structural acupuncture and prescribe herbal medicine. Each of us has also trained in one more approach that we bring into our treatments.
Jason's Approach
Structural acupuncture, finished with craniosacral therapy.
Gentle, hands-on work with the fluid system that surrounds and cushions the brain and spinal cord. With a touch about the weight of a nickel, it seeks to ease tension where this system anchors, at the base of the skull and at the sacrum.
Many people report a deep sense of calm during the treatment and wake feeling refreshed and clear. Jason often closes his acupuncture visits with it, and also offers it on its own.
Andrea's Approach
Structural acupuncture, finished with a warming herbal moxa salve she makes herself, rubbed into the shoulders and back.
When we decide to raise an arm, the signal comes from one specific area of the brain. The same is true of walking, speaking, balance, and vision, and brain imaging has mapped where each of these areas lies. Scalp acupuncture places thin needles in the scalp over the area that matches what you are experiencing, seeking to help that part of the body.
Andrea listens to your symptoms, finds the corresponding areas on the scalp, and places the needles there. Most people report feeling little or nothing, and she can ease the sensation if anything feels too strong. Most report feeling very calm afterward. After a few visits, once you are comfortable, she often adds it to every treatment for those who find it helpful.
